About Yasuke Arms
Yasuke Arms is a firearms training company based in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, built on one belief: protection is a calling, not a performance.
Our name honors Yasuke — the African warrior who rose to become a trusted retainer in Oda Nobunaga’s inner circle in feudal Japan, widely regarded as the first foreign-born samurai in Japanese history. He is remembered for loyalty, discipline, courage, and protection carried without ego. That is the standard we train to, and it shapes everything we teach.
Our Founder
Yasuke Arms was founded by Christopher Perkins, who spent 35 years in financial services and trading — a career built on protecting what others had worked to build, often in volatile and unforgiving conditions. That same mindset — situational awareness, disciplined risk assessment, and knowing when to act and when to hold — is the lens he now brings to firearms and personal-protection training.
Perkins holds the following instructor certifications and credentials:
- Texas LTC Instructor
-
NRA Basic Pistol Instructor
-
NRA CCW Instructor
-
NRA CRSO Credentialed
-
Tactical Anatomy SRXV Instructor
-
USCCA CCHDF Instructor
-
USCCA RSO Credentialed
- Stop The Bleed Certified
What We Do
We deliver structured, progressive firearms and personal-protection training for everyday people who take their responsibility seriously — from your first NRA Basic Pistol / Texas LTC course through our Defensive Pistol (DP-1, DP-2, DP-3) training ladder. Every level builds on the last: safe handling and legal fundamentals first, then situational awareness and judgment under pressure, then advanced decision-making and scenario-based skills.
Who We Serve
Parents, professionals, first responders, and anyone who refuses to be a victim and wants to be genuinely prepared — not just armed. We call this the quiet guardian: someone who trains so they never have to act, but who will be ready if the moment ever demands it.
Our Promise
We believe responsible gun owners make communities safer. Our courses are built to give you the knowledge, skill, and confidence to exercise your rights responsibly, legally, and with honor.
Train with Purpose. Protect with Honor.
At Yasuke Arms, our Texas License to Carry class is a State Approved Course. It is an online course you can take right from the comforts of your own home, anytime, day or night. The online LTC class works on all devices including your smartphone. There is no need to spend all day sitting in a crowded classroom on a Saturday. You can get certified online at your own pace.
Benefits of a Texas LTC
-
Reciprocity: This is a big one. An LTC allows you to carry in many more states. Texas has reciprocity agreements with a significant number of other states, meaning your LTC is recognized as a carry permit in those places.
-
Carry in more places: The Texas LTC allows you to carry in a lot more places including, school zones, school parking lots, college campuses “including in buildings”, past no carry “gun buster” signs, hospitals, nursing homes and more.
-
Potential legal advantages: An LTC might offer some additional legal protection in self-defense situations. While the laws are complex, having an LTC demonstrates you’ve received training on firearms safety and Texas law.
-
Faster firearm purchases: LTC holders are exempt from background checks when buying guns from a dealer.
-
Demonstrates responsible gun ownership: An LTC shows you’ve gone through the process of education and background checks. This can be a positive if you’re ever questioned by law enforcement.
- Trespass Protection: If you carry past a no carry sign they must give you an opportunity to leave the building before you can be charged.
